Sustainable living expert to share insights

Consumers today are encouraged to buy more than they need – clothes, food, the latest technology. But how can consumers become more responsible in how they eat, work and live?

Ma’ikwe Ludwig will present “Sustainable Is Possible: Creating Low-Carbon, High-Quality Lives…Together” at 7 p.m. April 4 and at 9:30 a.m. April 5. Both presentations will take place in Alumni Auditorium in the Davis Administration Building on the Friends University campus.

Ludwig will explain how to live a high-quality life while living on approximately 10 percent of the resources of the average American. A question and answer session will follow her presentations.

Ludwig authored Passion as a Planet and serves as the executive director of Dancing Rabbit Ecovillage, a non-profit organization. She has taught courses on sustainable living since 1991. She is on the board of directors for the Fellowship for Intentional Community (FIC) and is a regular contributor to Communities magazine. Living in seven different communities throughout 17 years, she primarily teaches at intentional community conferences around the nation as well as at Dancing Rabbit.

Both presentations are free and open to the public. For more information about this event, please contact 295-5827.
