National Merit Scholarship

Friends is very excited to offer two full-tuition scholarships for National Merit Scholarship winners and five $20,000 scholarships for National Merit Semifinalists. Renewal of the scholarship requires a CGPA of 2.0. To apply, read the requirements below, fill out the form and essay question at the bottom of the page.

National Merit Scholarship Requirements

You will be required to submit an online scholarship application along with a 500-word essay answering the following question: What do you think you will contribute to the Friends Community, a Christian university of Quaker heritage, in terms of your activities and involvement in campus life?

Scholarship recipients will be assigned a faculty research sponsor in their first year at Friends University. Scholarship recipients must live on campus for one year.

Pell and Kansas Comprehensive grants can be utilized along with this scholarship to help cover room and board and other educational expenses. Your FAFSA and application must be submitted by April 1.
