Friends University will host its first TEDx event Saturday, Oct. 6. The TEDxFriendsU event will be centered around the theme – “Rise to the Call: Faith, Friends, Future,” based on Friends’ tagline.
The following people are among those scheduled to speak:
- Suzanna Mathews, founder of The Date Maven, will speak on the need to experience love, social connections and compassion.
- Dr. Jerree Forbes, CEO at The Forbes Group LLC, will explore trends in brain technology to illuminate its use in learning, memory and an enhanced life.
- Andrea Stang, founder of The Hive, will share her story about how she is helping college educated women under the age of 45 feel supported, inspired and engaged to move our community forward.
The event will also feature two TED video talks.
TEDx events are independently organized and are given a free license from TED. Designed to empower communities, TEDx events are multidisciplinary and feature a variety of local speakers, who give brief presentations.
