The Latino Leadership Program is a mentorship and leadership program that gives high-performing students with an interest in Hispanic and Latino culture and language the opportunity to excel at Friends University and beyond.

Scholarship Opportunities
Up to $2,500 scholarship* as well as other scholarships for which you may qualify (see below).
Strong Support System
Strong support system including peer, academic and professional mentor as well as leadership development and training.
Job Placement Assistance
Assistance with job placement on campus.
Summer Immersion
Summer Immersion where you and the others in Latino Leadership will spend a few days on campus to get to know each other, the university and your support system of mentors. You will also participate in leadership seminars.

How to Apply
To qualify for the Latino Leadership Program, you must:
- Be an incoming freshman for the 2025-26 academic year
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA in high school
- Have an interest in Hispanic/Latino culture and language
- Have financial need
To apply to the Latino Leadership Program, you must:
- Apply to Friends University at friends.edu/apply
- Once accepted you must apply to the Latino Leadership Program by either December 2nd, 2024 for our priority deadline and the possibility of receiving more institutional aid, or our Spring deadline March 24th, 2025. To apply, please fill out this application form.
- Finalists will be selected for an interview and will be notified if they are chosen for the 2025-2026 academic year.
By filling out the FAFSA and applying for additional scholarships, you could qualify for more than $30,000 annually, which would cover your tuition, books and living expenses! Here are some grants and scholarships available:

* Cannot be combined with some institutional scholarships. Additional institutional scholarships and outside scholarships vary. The FAFSA must be completed to qualify for the Pell and Kansas Comprehensive Grant.
** Students must maintain a GPA of 2.5 annually to receive the Latino Leadership scholarship each year and many other scholarships as well.
*** You only need to fill out the FAFSA once each year to be eligible for federal and state scholarships.
