Miguel Guzman
Major: Music Performance and Business
Miguel’s Bio
Miguel Guzman is from Garland, Texas and graduated from Garland High School. He is majoring in Music Performance and Business. His goal is to complete college and go to graduate school to further pursue his passions. Miguel was heavily influenced by his family who has always supported him and loved him. He looks forward to meeting new people and pursuing his dreams while at Friends. His parents raised him to value education so he wouldn’t have to struggle the way they did.

Sebastian Carbajal
Major: Business Administration and Entrepreneurship Minor
Sebastian’s Bio
Sebastian Carbajal is from Dallas, Texas where he graduated from Rick Reedy High School and played for FC Dallas. As a first-generation college student, Sebastian aims to pursue a degree in business administration and accounting, while competing on the men’s soccer team. Apart from sports and academics, Sebastian is involved in HALO and Student Lead Investments. His family and former U.S. Navy SEAL David Goggins are his main sources of inspiration for excelling in his academics and athletics. Sebastian hopes to one day run his own successful company, and strives to become a role model for future generations.

Yesenia Arellano
Major: Health Science
Yesenia’s Bio
Yesenia Arellano is a second-generation college student and has two older brothers, two older sisters, and one younger brother. Her parents’ names are Rafael Arellano and Rosa Arellano. Arellano is a part of the falcon powerlifting team and HALO program here at Friends University. She is majoring in health science and wants to be a physical therapist when she is finished with her undergrad. Being a part of Latino leaders has helped Arellano connect to her culture and helps her miss Escaramuza a little bit less.

Monica Aguilar
Major: Accounting
Monica’s Bio
Monica Aguilar is a graduate from Wichita High School East. She is a first-generation student attending Friends University and majoring in Accounting. Monica loves hanging out with her friends and being able to be there for them. She says parents are always pushing her to do the best and she wishes to show her brothers that they can also accomplish more. Monica also wants to be able to help her family and to show them that their hard work has paid off.

Dulce Delacruz
Major: Health Science/nursing
Dulce’s Bio
Dulce is from Floresville, Texas and graduated from Floresville High School. Dulce is the first one in her family to attend college. Her mother is from Guatemala, and she is the youngest one. Dulce plans to become a registered nurse after she graduates and is a part of the powerlifting team. She hopes that one day she can give back to her community and help others in need. Dulce is grateful for her family, friends and coaches supporting her through this new journey.

Jessica Hernandez
Major: Visual Communications and Spanish
Jessica’s Bio
Jessica Hernandez is a graduate from Campus High School. She is a first-generation student pursuing a degree in Visual Communications and Spanish. She is studying to become a graphic designer. Jessica’s biggest motivation is her family. While at Friends, she hopes to build her creative portfolio and prepare for her career.

Vanessa Aguilar
Major: Health Science
Vanessa’s Bio
Vanessa Aguilar was born and raised in Wichita, Kansas. She is majoring in Psychology and aspires to obtain a masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs. As the assistant to the Latino Leadership Program, Health Science club secretary, ambassador in financial aid and admissions, and First Year Mentor, she has developed a passion for school and student life. While she has a love for school, Vanessa has a love for traveling. She has been to France, Italy, Finland, Mexico, and her favorite, Spain. Her family continues to be the inspiration for what she does as they have been her greatest support and role models.

Jazleen Salas
Major: International Business and Spanish
Jazleen’s Bio
Jazleen Salas a graduate from Goddard High School. While at Friends University, she is involved in many activities such as softball, HALO, and orchestra. Jazleen is majoring in both International Business and Spanish. After she graduates, Jazleen is hoping to be an asset in the business world.
