Friends University Spring Ballet – A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Fairies and magic will light the stage at 7 p.m. March 2 and 3, 2015 and 2 p.m. March 4, 2015 in the Riney Fine Arts Building’s Sebits Auditorium as the Friends University dancers perform “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” a lavish ballet based on the classic comedy by William Shakespeare with music by Felix Mendelssohn.

The ballet is directed and choreographed by Stan K. Rogers. This production will be completed with scenery by designer A.J. Kellison and costumes by Debbie Roberts.

Throughout this comic romantic plot, fairies manipulate the events in a human love story while they are also engaged in difficulties of their own.

Students will also perform a new contemporary ballet by Director Stan K. Rogers with music by Karl Jenkins.
