The Friends University Community Orchestra will present their fall concert on November 17, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in Sebits Auditorium.
The concert will feature two works based around Native American culture. The first work will be Colors of the Spirit by conductor Daniel Racer. Colors is based off of five paintings by Native American artist Tillier Wesley. Wesley’s paintings will be projected during the performance. The second work on the program will be Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 “From The New World”. Dvorak based his work off of Native American music and culture as well as African American culture during the end of the 19th century.
The performance will be held in Sebits Auditorium at the Friends University Campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan.. and the performance is $11 for adults and $9 for seniors and students.
