Friends University will honor approximately 500 students at this year’s commencement ceremony Saturday, May 7, 2016, at INTRUST Bank Arena. The guest speaker will be U.S. Sen. Jerry Moran.
The ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, May 7, at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita. The ceremony will recognize graduates from the university’s Wichita, Topeka and the greater Kansas City locations.
Sen. Moran served seven terms in the U.S. House of Representatives before being elected to the Senate in 2010. Before his election to public office, Moran attended Fort Hays State University and later the University of Kansas, where he completed a degree in economics. After an early career as a small town banker, he received his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law.
Friends University graduates will be recognized from the College of Business, Arts, Sciences and Education; the College of Adult and Professional Studies; and the Graduate School. Graduate School students will be hooded during the ceremony.
