Friends University’s online Master of Business Administration with an accounting concentration was ranked No. 20 in the nation by affordableschools.net. David Hofmeister, dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies, noted that “Affordability is one of the top issues graduate students consider when making a decision about a master’s degree. Friends University is very much aware of this. We are pleased to be recognized by affordableschools.net for our efforts.” The Friends University MBA with the accounting concentration is the only Kansas program listed.
Friends University has a Professional MBA and a Global MBA. Both can include the accounting concentration for working professionals who have an accounting degree or the equivalent. Either degree with the accounting concentration is offered online and on-campus, and neither require the GRE or GMAT for entrance.
The accounting concentration prepares students for leadership positions in business. The program’s purpose is to develop students’ skills in the functional areas of profit and nonprofit organizations. After completing all courses required by the Kansas State Board of Accountancy (KSBOA) and successfully accomplishing 150 or more credits, students are qualified to sit for the CPA exam.
The cost of the degree, which depends on the specific program and location, ranges from $18,930 for the on-campus Professional MBA to $21,111 for the online Global MBA (excluding the cost of a business residency abroad).
Affordableschools.net’s rankings were based upon the availability of online or hybrid master’s degrees in accounting, average out-of-state tuition and the city’s cost of living.
