Friends University will host Steven “Steve” Wade, Boeing’s director of F-15 Middle East Sustainment Programs, at 7 p.m. March 9. This talk is part of Friends University’s newly launched “Those Who Lead, Read” program, a monthly speaker series that engages its students and the Wichita community in a timely discussion about literacy and leadership.
The event is free and open to the public and will take place at Edmund Stanley Library on the Friends University campus. Friends is hosting various leaders in 2017 to discuss their favorite books on leadership, faith or organizational change.
Wade, the second speaker in the series, will discuss the book Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, A Young Man, and Life’s Greatest Lesson by Mitch Albom.
Wade has been Boeing’s director of F-15 Middle East Sustainment Programs since November 2015. He leads all F-15 direct commercial sales and foreign military sales sustainment programs in the Middle Eastern region. Wade holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology from Kansas State University.
Prior to directing the Middle East Sustainment Program, he was Boeing’s director and program manager for all H-47 U.S. Military and Foreign Military Sales Chinook Programs. He also served as General Manager of Global Transport & Executive Systems.
“Mr. Wade is traveling from the Middle East to give leadership lessons on our campus,” said Dr. David Carter, program director and assistant professor of organizational leadership and transformational change. “Mr. Wade serves as an example of great leadership, and I have no doubt that he will be showing how strong readers have become great leaders through his discussion on Tuesdays with Morrie.”
