Friends University’s Master of Health Care Leadership (MHCL) program ranks No. 19 in the nation and is the only program listed in Kansas among the top 49 online health care management master’s degree programs, according to TheBestColleges.org.
“Our MHCL program is recognized as the strongest health care leadership program in the state,” said Dr. David Hofmeister, dean of the College of Adult and Professional Studies and the Graduate School. “Working professionals are trained practically and professionally. They network and participate in the dynamic health care industry, filling various roles from skillful practitioners to CEOs of medical centers and health care systems.”
The MHCL degree began in 2008 as an on-campus program and an online option was added in 2010. The degree prepares students for a variety of health care industry leadership positions and covers a wide range of subjects, including management, leadership, law/ethics and marketing. Students come from a variety of health care areas, including allied health, emergency medical services, health care administration, hospital non-nursing, nursing and pharmaceutical.
To calculate the college rankings, TheBestColleges.org examined admissions rates, student loan default rates, retention rates, graduation rates and percentage of students enrolled in online classes. To view the complete list of rankings, visit TheBestColleges.org.
