Wichita, Kan. – The Friends University Jazz Combo Showcase will feature Dave Glenn, former member of the Gerry Mulligan Big Band and Director of Jazz Studies at Whitman College in Washington. The performance will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Sebits Auditorium in Riney Fine Arts Building.
“Dave is a wonderful trombone player and composer,” said Lisa Hittle, assistant professor or music and director of the jazz program. “He will be a jazz artist-in-residence for three days, working with big bands, combos and individual students.”
Glenn will perform with each of the four Friends University Jazz Combos, and guest combo, Air Traffic Jazz.
Ticket prices are $6 for adults and $3 for students and seniors (60+). The performance will take place in Sebits Auditorium in Riney Fine Arts Building on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan.
