Wichita, Kan. – Guest dancers from the New York City Ballet and Colorado Ballet will be featured in the Friends University Ballet Department and Wichita Ballet Theatre full-length production of “The Nutcracker.” Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8-9 and Dec. 15-16, and at 2 p.m. Dec. 10 and Dec. 16, 2017 in Sebits Auditorium, Riney Fine Arts Center.
“We have a brand new design for our ‘growing’ tree and several of our costumes are brand new,” said Stan Rogers, ballet director.
The first weekend of performances, Dec. 8-10, will feature guest artists Chandra Kuykendall and Domenico Luciano from the Colorado Ballet. Principal dancers Maria Kowroski and Tyler Angle from the New York City Ballet will join the University’s student dancers on stage during the second weekend of performances, Dec. 15-16.
Tickets will sell out for each performance, so those who wish to attend should purchase their tickets early. Ticket prices are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors (60+). The performance will take place in Sebits Auditorium in Riney Fine Arts Center on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan.
