Wichita, KS- The Friends University Jazz Vocal Ensemble (JVE) and Jazz Ensemble I will come together to perform Friday, Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Sebits Auditorium, Riney Fine Arts Center.
This year is JVE’s 10th birthday, being founded with its first group in 2009. Fresh off the recent “Jazz Swings Western Style” concert, JVE will perform some country-themed music in a jazz style. This performance also celebrates the release of a compilation CD for sale at the concert.
Friends University Jazz Ensemble I will be performing classic big band literature from the libraries of Count Basie, Thad Jones and others.
Tickets for adults are $6; students and seniors are $3.
