Wichita- Eight Kansas high school and college choirs will join the Friends University Singing Quakers, Concert Choir and Jazz Vocal Ensemble in the university’s annual vocal outreach event Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. at Friends University in Sebits Auditorium.
The Sing It! Vocal Festival features Friends University faculty and Tesfa Wondemagegnehu, guest conductor.
Wondemagegnehu serves as the conductor of the Viking Chorus and the Chapel Choir at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. Through the love and dedication of music teachers with whom he has studied and an abundance of grit and determination, Wondemagegnehu has become one of the most sought-after conductors and educators in the country and is on the cutting edge of music-related social justice movements throughout the United States.
The concert will also feature the high school winner of the Sing It! Vocal Festival masterclass competition.
