Friends University to present When I Consider Your Heavens: Spring Ballet, a multi-sensory event March 8-10

Wichita, KS – The Friends University Ballet will present When I Consider Your Heavens: Spring Ballet, featuring accompaniment by the Friends University Concert Band and Concert Choir, pianist James J. Kaufmann and singer Andrea Simpson.

The first half of the program will be a spiritual piece choreographed by Friends University junior Emma Browning to intimate music featuring unamplified voices.

The second half will be a four-movement piece choreographed by special guest, Marlise McCormick titled Seas of the Moon. From Olympic Ceremonies, to Cirque de Soleil, McCormick is an in-demand choreographer, movement director and show designer. Her husband, Robert Buckley, composed the dance’s score which had its world premiere at the Friends University Band Concert Feb. 18.

The convergence of art forms in this performance will make it a multi-sensory event. Each patron will be surrounded by the full beauty and impact of the arts.

Performances will be March 8 at 7:30 p.m., March 9 at 7:30 p.m. and March 10 at 2 p.m.

Tickets for the concert are $16 for adults and $13 for seniors and students.
