Wichita, KS- Friends University congratulates junior Shannon McCon who has been accepted into an elite professional development track within The New Dance Lab.
The New Dance Lab, a partnership between the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission and Johnson County Community College, allows a select group of established and aspiring dance professionals the opportunity to participate in an intimate one-on-one and small group professional development experience.
McCon will be studying under Catherine Meredith, an independent choreographer and faculty member at Dancing Wheels Inc.
“Through this program I am hoping to learn more about the artistic process of choreography and how independent choreographers are able to create the life/career that they want,” McCon said.
Shannon McCon is currently a student under the direction of Andrea Vazquez Aguirre, Friends University’s director of ballet.
Friends University, a Christian University of Quaker heritage, equips students to honor God and serve others by integrating their intellectual, spiritual and professional lives.
