Friends University announced today that Starbucks Coffee is now on campus. A new Starbucks “We Proudly Serve” location will be serving Starbucks handcrafted espresso drinks, Teavana iced teas, Starbucks refreshers and more. In addition, Friends has added a new Casado Café where different culinary concepts will be offered on a rotating basis. The first concept to be offered is called Pressed and it offers a world of creative combinations from classic American to Latin tortas, to Italian-inspired sandwiches. The last addition to the Casado Campus Center is a new Community Market. This is a one-stop shop to meet the convenience needs of the campus community. The innovative new market is designed to offer on-trend snacking options, bottled beverages, Simply to Go (ready to eat items) and a variety of sundry and personal care items.
“We are very pleased to add these three new offerings inside our Casado Campus Center,” said Friends University President Dr. Amy Bragg Carey. “Casado is designed to provide students with a community space promoting social interaction and engagement while also encouraging them to process what they’re studying with other students and faculty.”
The Casado Campus Center currently provides a supportive environment for the social and recreational activity of the Friends University Campus. Some of the other amenities included in the center are a Fidelity Bank interactive banking machine, the McKay Gym and a bookstore. The center also houses Student Affairs, the Student Government Association, Friends intramurals, and other fitness and fun activities.
Friends University, a Christian University of Quaker heritage, equips students to honor God and serve others by integrating their intellectual, spiritual and professional lives.
