Friends University presents the Concert Band’s Side-by-Side Concert with Goessel High School

Wichita, KS – The Friends University Concert Band will present its fall concert in Sebits Auditorium on Monday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.

They will be joined by Goessel High School’s Concert Band directed by Scott R. Taylor.

“We are looking forward to sharing an evening of engaging music which highlights the expressive nature of both ensembles. It is an honor to share the stage with the Goessel High School Concert Band and Mr. Taylor,” said director of the Friends University Concert Band, Shawn M. Knopp. “We will end the concert by combining both bands to create one dynamic and talented group of musicians.”

One of the pieces the bands will perform together is Fate of the Gods, by Steven Reineke. This programmatic work was inspired by tales of Nordic mythology and tells the story of Ragnarok, and an incredible war of good versus evil.

Tickets for the concert are $6 for adults and $3 for seniors and students. The performance will take place in Sebits Auditorium in Riney Fine Arts on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan.
