Wichita, Kan.– Friends University will host a First Friday gallery reception for artist, Tim Stone. The reception will take place in the Riney Fine Arts Gallery in Riney Fine Arts Center Dec. 6 from 5-7 p.m.
Tim Stone’s work consists of depicting spaces that are inspired by the ordinary and triggered by the mundane. “There is a constant tension between the ordinary and the superlative and between natural and artificial color. This occurrence is true in moments that I experience, so it is truthful in the scenes I paint,” said Stone.
Stone has recently expanded the process of his work by pushing its boundaries towards installation, using both canvas and tape as a tool in his artwork.
The exhibit will be on display until Feb. 1 and is sponsored in part by KMUW, Wichita’s National Public Radio member station.
