Friends University is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Kneeland C. Brown as the new Special Appointment Professor of Business. Dr. Brown will assume his new role at Friends on Aug. 1, 2021.
Dr. Brown earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a minor in Social Studies and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Azusa Pacific University, and a Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California. He is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Organizational Management from Azusa Pacific University.
Dr. Brown serves as a member of the Friends University Board of Trustees. His previous experience includes serving as the President of Trinity Academy in Wichita, Kan., Dean of the DeVoe School of Business at Indiana Wesleyan University, Executive Director at the Focus Leadership Institute, and several roles at Azusa Pacific University including Founding Program Director of Ethnic Studies Minor; Executive Director and Director of Diversity Initiatives of the Office of Diversity Planning and Assessment; Associate Professor of Management; Special Assistant for Special Programs; and Student Services Coordinator with the School of Theology.
“Dr. Brown’s faith and leadership will be an asset to Friends University as he takes on a faculty role in our business division this year,” said Dr. Ken Stoltzfus, vice president of academic affairs at Friends University. “As a board member, Dr. Brown understands our standard of excellence in academic programming and as a professor, he is dedicated to the success of each student and to implementing the university mission and values in the classroom.”
