Wichita, Kan.– Friends University will host a First Friday gallery reception for local artist and cartoonist, Richard Crowson Sept. 3 from 5-7 p.m. The in-person reception will take place in the Riney Fine Arts Gallery on the Friends University campus. Light refreshments will be served.
The exhibit is titled Misery Loves Cartoonery. “The works in this show represent my attempts to move from the world of cartooning into the world of painting…I’m interested in the relationship of those two worlds, at least as far as my abilities can convey it. ” Crowson said.
Misery Loves Cartoonery will be on display in the Riney Fine Arts Gallery until Sept. 25 and online at rineygallery.com.
Richard Crowson is an editorial commentator and cartoonist for KMUW and is featured frequently in the Wichita Eagle.
