Wichita, Kan.– Friends University will host a First Friday gallery reception for self-taught abstract artist, Iris Fletcher, Oct. 7 from 5-7 p.m. The in-person reception will take place in the Riney Fine Arts Gallery on the Friends University campus. Light refreshments will be served.
Fletcher was born and raised in New York City and relocated to Kansas in 2010. She has exhibited her acrylic paintings in many galleries here in Wichita and surrounding areas.
The exhibit is titled Abstract My Way. “Every piece is my unsaid-on canvas. The colors are filled with my core fantasies and realities waiting to be interpreted. I distort reality in abstract,” Fletcher said.
Abstract My Way will be on display in the Riney Fine Arts Gallery until Oct. 29 and online at rineygallery.com.
The exhibit is sponsored in part by KMUW, Wichita’s National Public Radio member station.
