So begins the incredible legacy that is the Student Body of Friends University. The university had 53 students enrolled at the beginning of the first year, and by the end of the 1898-1899 term, enrollment had grown to 102 students – 57 men and 45 women.
The classes that were offered were:
Literature, History, Mathematics, Astronomy, Hebrew, Biblical Literature, Languages, Physical Sciences, Elocution and Oratory (Public Speaking), and Music.
Classes were offered at the college and preparatory (high school) level. Tuition was $40.00 per year for college students and $28.00 for preparatory students.
Of the 102 students enrolled, 18 were of college rank, and according to records, 16 of graduated from Friends University.
