Schaneè A. Anderson is the new Special Appointment Assistant Professor of Zoo Science. Anderson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science at the University of Nebraska and a Masters in Elementary Education and Curriculum Instruction at Kansas State University. Anderson served as the Curator of Education and Farms at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, KS; the Curator of Education at the Sunset Zoo in Manhattan, KS; the Education Assistant at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, NE; and the Co-Nature Director at the Eastern Nebraska 4-H Center in Gretna, NE. Anderson has 26 years of teaching experience as the Adjunct Instructor for Friends University and Kansa State University, as well as a Workshop Facilitator for the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education. Anderson serves as a member for the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the National Association for Interpretation, and the Kansas Association for Conservation and Environmental Education; and has been recognized for more than a dozen committees and awards.
