Friends University Testimonial

Elizabeth Swartwood

I worked as a Science Communications Assistant as a part of the Scientists in Parks internship. I was based out of Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska.

I had many experiences at Friends that helped me succeed in my role as a Scientist in Parks. Many of the classes I took such as Wildlife Interpretation and Public Speaking gave me opportunities to practice my skills in verbal sharing of knowledge. All of my written exams and research papers gave me ample opportunity to develop the skills of scientific writing as well as writing for the general public. My research with you studying invasive crayfish really gave me a step up in poster and material creation and writing as well. All of these were large proponents of the job.
