Senate Proclamation of 125th Anniversary of Friends
Dr. Carey, Board Chair, Thayne Thompson, Student Body President, Becker Truster, Director of Alumni Relations, Jessica Boone and Public Relations and Communication Manager, Laura Fuller witnessed the proclamation of Friends University’s 125th anniversary by the Kansas House and Senate at the state Capitol in Topeka in March.

From April 28-30 of 2023, the Singing Quakers performed their 70th annual Symphony of Spring, “It’s a Grand Night for Singing.” Singing Quaker alumni were invited to Wichita to participate in the performance.
Spain and Portugal Tour
In May of 2023, the Singing Quakers toured Spain and Portugal in May for nearly two weeks. Mechanical Engineering Program Receives ABET Accreditation
In August, 2023, the Mechanical Engineering Program received noticed of accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. This long-awaited news came just weeks after the completion of the Mechanical Engineering and Visual Arts lab addition to the William Penn Science Building.
Friends University Celebrates 125 Anniversary
On September 14, 2023, Friends University celebrated 125 years of history with a special ceremony that included greetings from Dr. Carey, Dr. James Bryan Smith, Board Chair, Dr. Thayne Thompson and special virtual greetings from Sen. Wichita Grand Opera
In March 2024, the Singing quakers were the featured chorus and soloist with the Wichita Grand Opera, directed by guest conductor Dr. Rayvon T.J. Moore in a performance of Fauré Requiem.
Riney Fine Arts Center Ribbon Cutting
On September 19, the university celebrated the grand unveiling of the new Riney Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Hundreds were in attendance for the special program.
