Wichita, KS- The Friends University Concert Choir will present its spring program, Rise! Shine! Attendees will have two opportunities to attend the performance on April 7 and April 8 at 7:30 p.m.
“With all we have lived through the past few years and what we see daily, it would be easy to give up,” said assistant professor of music and Concert Choir director, Rolaine Hetherington.
“But we have been given a greater hope and because of that we can “rise an’ shine! For the light is a-comin.”
This year’s selections represent the anguish of loss and despair and the gift of hope and peace through the music of Bach, Hassler, Barber, Lauridsen, Parker, Dilworth and more.
Concert Choir is especially excited to collaborate with the Friendship Fields class on two pieces. Friendship Fields is a Friends University program for college-age adults with disabilities to experience college life. These young people are wonderful to work with and attendees are sure to be blessed by their performance.
The performance will take place in Sebits Auditorium on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan., and the cost is $9 for adults and $6 for seniors and students. Tickets may be purchased online at friends.edu/fineartstickets or by calling the Fine Arts Box Office at 316-295-5677.
