Wichita, Kan. – Friends University’s Fine Arts faculty members will present a fanfare of performances to showcase their artwork Thursday, Sept. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Sebits Auditorium in Riney Fine Arts Center.
The exhibit and show are an opportunity for the community to experience the creative and diverse faculty members in Friends University’s Division of Fine Arts. Talented professors will share music, dance and visual arts as they inspire students and the public alike.
“We are excited to introduce two new full-time faculty members to the public,” said Dr. Rayvon T.J. Moore, fine arts division co-chair. Dr. Nick Schroeder, new interim director of the jazz program, came to Friends University from Hutchinson Community College after adjuncting for Friends since 2016. Donalyn Manion is the new interim director of the visual arts program. Her recent experience included several roles at Bethel College, Wichita City Arts and Kansas State University. “Nick and Donalyn bring so many collaborative and innovative ideas to our team. And we look forward introducing them to you at the Faculty Fanfare.”
Featured performances include vocal duets, spoken poetry, a jazz quintet and much more.
Tickets to the performance are free at Friends.edu/fineartstickets. The performance will take place in Sebits Auditorium in Riney Fine Arts Center on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kan.
