Why I love Friends!

Music has been a part of the curriculum of the college from the beginning. The orchestra and vocal groups performed for various organizations in the community, a tradition that still carries on today.

I believe as storytellers, we can educate, help people see outside themselves, and impact people for the better. The connections I made [at Friends University] have lasted me all these years, and I have no doubt many will last a lifetime.

From studying abroad to making tamales in community centers, the Spanish program at Friends University provided me with some wonderful opportunities that have broadened my perspective, nurtured my curiosity, and have given me a confidence to step into something that is bigger than myself.

Not only does the Master’s in Christian Spiritual Formation and Leadership program take seriously our dire need for deeper discipleship practices, as a bi-vocational pastor, I can also attest that it delivers high-level instruction combined with exceptional value and a realistic pace that can fit even into a busy schedule. This was the program I was waiting for.

Friends University encouraged me to explore gaps of service in the healthcare sector and prepared me with the skills to help lead change. Due to my research at Friends, Via Christi Health has implemented our nation’s first human trafficking education program and protocol for healthcare professionals.

The Music program at Friends University has equipped me with the connections and resources to propel my career into the future. The faculty, staff and students have provided a nurturing community in which I have grown as a musician, educator and follower of Christ.

I have to thank the good finance program of Friends University in which I gained a lot of skills and knowledge causing the German Federal Bank to offer me an internship and an amazing full time job after my graduation!

This new program is so exciting! It gives students a great science foundation but digs into many other disciplines too. It really puts students in the driver’s seat of their own career pathway.

Friends University has been the “gift that keeps on giving.” I continue to be impressed by the variety shown in the teacher workshop offerings. They are timely and critical to strengthening the level of expertise in my teaching craft. Based on these workshops and the summer graduate class offerings, I am able to return to my school in the fall with impactful lessons, technology strategies to enhance my instruction and leadership ideas for my team.

I just want to take a minute to praise the Lord. I am amazed at what I have learned about myself in the last 3.5 years. I have had an amazing support system during this time. God has brought new people in my life and for that I am forever grateful…. He gave me the ability to get through it and helped me keep a 4.0! He is a great God and worthy of our praise!!

The instructors were very knowledgeable in what they were teaching. They would even go out of their way to take the time to make it feel like the class was customized just for me. Before attending Friends University, I was at an entry level position with my employer, and once I finished my degree was able to transition to a more senior level position/pay.

This University has provided more than just a degree; it has allowed me to see the world in a different light. I have grown personally and professionally. More importantly, I have become a part of something bigger than myself.

You’ll have unparalleled access to professors and critical thinking that I don’t think is prevalent at a larger institution.

I think others should consider Friends University if they want a quality education that others in the professional world will take seriously. Another factor you should take into consideration, is that once you leave Friends, Friends doesn’t leave you. Once a Falcon always a Falcon.

My professors have furnished me with the tools to connect with others on multiple levels and thrive in an unfamiliar atmosphere.

The Christian Spiritual Formation program is one of the main reasons I came to Friends University. I wanted to be part of the CSF program because I wanted to learn as much about Jesus as possible. There was an unquenchable thirst for God in my life, and the CSF program has helped make that longing more acute.

Yo sé que cuando el tiempo se acerca para empezar a buscar y encontrar su universidad perfecta, hay muchas preguntas y surgen muchas dudas. Tengo que decirles que recibí mucha ayuda y mucho apoyo de los consejeros de la Universidad de Friends. ¡Era excepcional!

For me, Friends University has been the best investment I have made in my education. The personal growth I have seen in my time spent at Friends is astonishing. I have overcome challenges and obstacles that I would not have been able to if I had not attended Friends University. The community that surrounds this school is something I will never forget, and the relationships that have been built during my attendance here will last a lifetime.

As a graduate student it was all about the camaraderie with the other members of my class and the professors – it was always interesting, challenging and fun to learn.

My decision to attend Friends University outreach program in Garden City was the best ever. As a non-traditional student I get to pursue my dreams and take classes with a college that values God and His principles.
